You Made August Matter For Strong Women!

This month was really a sifting of the wheat from the chaff. There were challenging articles and the readers took to the challenge. It is ever a reminder of how wonderful and powerful our audience is.

This was a rare month that we did not have growth, but we missed that by less than 200 readers so it was close. But what was read was pleasantly unexpected. In the top 5 you gave Jenny and women inspired by her 2 spots in this month’s top five. Not only that, but for the first time not only did an article about a woman who has a disability got the same level of clicks as a normal Fem Friday Feature, you made herstory by making her story the top most read article in over 3 months!

As far as the rest. Bjork! Dolly Parton! They are both different stories with something not the norm of what we think of when we think of powerful women, but you enjoyed their conflicts and what they overcame to be who they were and you took a little bit of Cassie with you and gave the struggle of illiteracy and learning disabilities sublime respect.

Finally, with no surprise here, you made Jeremy Ritch’s article about MTV a top read.

What may not have been a month of growth in numbers, was growth in substance and that matters so much more.

September is not going to have a theme. We are just going to keep that balance of the sublime and the heartfelt. We hope you will join us. Thank you for making nostalgia that matters today something important.
